OVERVIEW

Modern means of information communication like electronic media, e-libraries and teleconferencing etc. are now effective instruments for educating and awaring the masses .Ever since, the teachers in the society  has been playing a vital role in communicating the necessary information's to the students formally and to the people  in the society informally. Because of this communicative role, the teacher has been considered an agent of social change. Media and Libraries also play an effective role to educate the students and people in general to bring about desired social change .Keeping in view the common communicative characteristic, the academic programs of teacher education, Mass communication, Library and Information Science are clubbed and a department of "people's education and Mass Communication" has been established in this university under faculty of "Education, Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Science ".

In the present era of globalization and explosion of information and knowledge, it has become necessary to the institutions of higher education to prepare and produce skilled and dedicated professionals to cater the increasing requirements in the areas of teaching, Mass communication and Library and Information Science .This University is committed to produce above said entrepreneurs through its academic programs.
