Overview

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is a part of Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) under MGCGV Chitrakoot. Institute of People’s Science and Technology (IPST) was established in 1993 and renamed as Faculty of Engineering and Technology in the year. Since its inception the department has provided quality education in the field of Information Technology (IT) to facilitate, the solving of important engineering and technological problems of the 21^st century. The major experience of IT students under ECE department is enhanced by sophisticated and ultra-modern Computer Networking (CN) and Software Engineering (SE), supported by highly qualified staff with research degrees from overseas, as well as state-of-the-art lab facilities.

The department believes that B. Tech. (IT) students should be scientifically and technically skilled. They should also have solid foundation in important contemporary issues of engineering and current global scenario.

Facilities

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology is having modern computer Labs equipped with own VSAT and Internet facility. Free access satellite connectivity is making global communication and knowledge interface. The centre is also having latest systems with modern configuration, networked on Internet. The software is available for developing the area of programming with latest languages. Complete visual library with NT back office server and modern computer packages are available. Linux & ICQ Software are available to make Internet more versatile. The world wide online discussion is possible by using above facilities.

The B. Tech. (IT) degree program provides excellent opportunity to take up career in Analog and Digital Communication, Networking, Instrumentation, Digital Electronics, Computer Architecture, Software System Engineering, Computer hardware, Data Base Management System consultancy, Computer Graphics and Multimedia, Animation Technology, Web Engineering and Computer Designing etc or practically any job that requires good professional and analytical soft skills.

Academic Programs and Courses

Presently Electronics and Communication Engineering department is running a full time four years course in B. Tech in Information Technology. The department also has a proposal for starting MCA course very shortly.
